Earlier this year, I posted an article on the latest logo design & branding trends and now 6 months on, the official 2019 logo trends report has just been released by Bill Gardner of LogoLounge.

This report has been put together by carefully analyzing over 300k logos from the past 17 years, handpicking those that contribute to emerging trends for the year. The findings & insights are found below.

  • Less traditional colors are being used (see logo color trends here)
  • Patterns & textures are replacing color fills
  • Odd gradient hues are being utilized in attempt to “own” a gradient blend
  • High-chroma gradients are rampant
  • Identity is often trumping logo design in terms of brand hierarchy
  • New plugins, filters, effects & animation are making way for new treatments
  • Repeated themes include; drones, vaping, tacos, weight bells, lightbulbs, mushrooms, tikis, waffles and needles

Remember, as Bill says:

“The key takeaway from this report is not to imitate, but to find a way to push these ideas forward and make them your own.”
