This year’s CES is pretty different from previous years and especially after the virtual event last year due to pandemic restrictions, everyone was expecting a huge event in 2022.

The show took place in Las Vegas and many big companies announced new products. Some tech publications and companies didn’t attend the event in person due to the quickly escalated Omicron situation but that hasn’t stopped them from making promising virtual announcements.

Many new technologies and advancements in the hardware sectors were announced this CES and that will surely help laptop makers create more powerful and delightful laptops.

What is CES 2022?

CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is the biggest tech event on the planet and happens on a yearly basis in Las Vegas. Brands from across the globe showcase their new developments (both hardware and software) that will be released in the near future.

This year, CES 2022 took place in Las Vegas from January 5 to January 8, 2022. The event took place both at the Vegas location and on digital platforms, owing to the COVID scenario. I couldn’t make it to the CES 2022 in Vegas but have been following all the concepts and products unveiled at the event.

So, here I bring you the very best laptops from CES 2022, the world’s biggest tech affair!

These laptops unveiled at CES 2022 are perfect for graphic design, programming and any creative work.

1. Alienware m17 R5 Ryzen Edition

When it comes to power, the Alienware m17 R5 Ryzen is no wuss. You can configure it with the latest AMD CPUs and either an AMD Radeon RX 6000-series or Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series GPU. This makes it one of the very best graphic designing and gaming laptops to date.

I was particularly impressed by the m17 R5’s eye-catching design and massive 17.3-inch screen.

2. Alienware x14

Alienware made its flagship m15 and m17 gaming laptops slimmer and sleeker with the x15 and x17 last year. They definitely look better, but I didn’t think the slight reduction in thickness was worth sacrificing some performance, and the X-Series versions were actually a little heavier, so they didn’t make the laptops much more portable.

Now, enter the x14. This combo has grabbed our interest because a leaner, sleeker redesign suits a compact 14-inch chassis far better than a 15 or 17-inch system. The 3.96-pound chassis is 0.57-inch thick, making it significantly more portable.

The resizing, 12th Generation Core i7 processors, and up to GeForce RTX 3060 GPU should ensure a powerful machine.

3. Asus ROG Flow Z13

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is the successor to the ROG Flow X13 gaming laptop/tablet hybrid that Asus introduced at CES 2021 last year, and it appears that the firm has made some smart improvements to make graphic design and gaming a lot more fun.

In 2022, the ROG Flow Z13 will be available with Windows 11 and the latest Intel 12th Gen CPUs, as well as an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti graphics card, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD. When the keyboard is removed, the 13.4-inch 16:10 touchscreen may be configured as an FHD (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) 120Hz screen or a 4K (3,840 x 2,400 pixels) 60Hz display, and it can also be used as a gaming tablet.

4. Asus ZenBook 17 Fold OLED

The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is more than a laptop, and it’s probably the most innovative product on this list. As the name of the device suggests, it has a 17-inch foldable OLED display. This means it may be folded into a laptop-like mode, flattened like a giant tablet, or propped up by a stand in a 4:3 aspect ratio portrait mode to be used as a tiny all-in-one PC with a Bluetooth keyboard.

What’s more? The Zenbook 17 Fold has a 12-generation Core i7 U-series processor, 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD: all in all, a great piece of hardware. It doesn’t have a price yet, but it won’t be cheap when it arrives in the second quarter of 2022. Despite that, this laptop indicates that we’re entering a new era of foldable gadgets that goes beyond the greatest folding phones.

 

5. Acer Predator Triton 500 SE

The Acer Predator Triton 500 SE is an improved version of the Acer Predator Triton 500, featuring up to a 12th generation Intel Core i9 processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU, and 32GB of RAM. This is without a doubt one of the most powerful laptops for gamers and creatives shown at CES 2022.

I am looking forward to seeing how the latest games and high-end graphic applications look on the laptop’s 16-inch 16:10 (2,560 x 1,660 pixels) display, which supports a 240Hz refresh rate and a 3 ms reaction time. Also, the laptop has a triple-fan cooling system, and Acer’s Vortex Flow technology should aid the airflow generated by those fans to crucial components.

I can’t wait to get one for myself to see how cool it keeps under pressure thanks to strategically placed thermal foam, liquid thermal lubricant on the CPU, and four heat pipes.

6. Lenovo Yoga 9i

The Yoga line debuted ten years ago, laying the groundwork for the convertible two-in-one laptop design that would later be adopted by the majority of PC makers. At CES 2022, Lenovo unveiled the seventh version of its Yoga 9 series, and it’s every bit the high-end two-in-one I’d expect.

The 9i’s body has been overhauled, and a new row of shortcut function keys has been added, making it easier to use for multiple purposes. While the Yoga 9i is a fan favorite, the Yoga 7i was also in the headlines, and I’m likely to recommend it, especially in the new 16-inch size.

7. Dell XPS 13 Plus

The Dell XPS 13 is one of my favorite premium laptops since it has a wonderful design, good features, and a price that’s comparable to the MacBook Air. The XPS 13 Plus, a new premium model, goes for a “minimalist and modern” appearance.

Instead of physical function buttons, a touch-sensitive strip may now switch between Fn and media control keys. On both of those, I’m keeping an open mind. They appear to be cool, yet they may be impractical.

More crucially, the display can be upgraded to a 4K OLED screen and Intel processors can run at 28 watts, compared to 15 watts on existing XPS 13 laptops, making it a dream setup for graphic designers and editors.

 

8. ThinkBook Plus Gen 3

Because of its eye-catching ultrawide 17.3-inch display and smaller 8-inch touchscreen embedded into the keyboard, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 is a genuine contender for the most innovative laptop introduced at CES 2022.

We were impressed by how effectively the two screens are merged into the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 3’s thin-and-light design. The Plus Gen 3 seems good enough to compete for a spot among the best laptops on the market, with cutting-edge 12th gen Intel Core H-Series CPUs, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to a 1TB SSD for storage.

In May 2022, we’ll find out when the Plus Gen 3 is on sale for a starting price of $1,399. We’re excited to see how the little LCD touchscreen works with the ultrawide 3K, 120Hz main panel to see if it really makes this a great laptop for creatives.
